Just when we had given up on the hopes of getting the console versions of Assassin’s Creed 2, here in India, an unexpected mail dropped in to make them soar high again. Apparently, E-xpress Games will be bringing both the console version of the game in November. We don’t know the exact release date or price yet but expect to hear a word about it soon.
This comes as quite a pleasant surprise to us as we remember with horror the multiple hoops that we had to jump through to get our copy from Play-Asia after have failed in finding it anywhere in India. Infact, the situation persisted for quite a while with console version of Ubisoft games remaining absent from the Indian store-shelves. Apparently, Ubisoft refused to discount the prices for India and insisted on selling them at par with the international price.
Now we are not sure whether Ubisoft has changed their stance vis-à-vis India or they have decided to stick to the higher price point after similarly priced Capcom games and Activision’s pricing of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 had softened the market. We are hoping that the price will remain within the Rs.3000 bracket unless they want gamers boycotting the game or sticking to the comparatively cheaper PC version of the game once it hits the market.
