Seems like this month is turning out to be a good one for Indian gamers. With barely hours to go until the countdown on Microsoft’s site hits zero for the inevitable Xbox Live India launch announcement, we’ve come across this piece of news that is sure to bring great joy to broke gamers like ourselves.
Seventymm, India’s largest online movie rental service, has started offering Xbox 360 games on rent to its patrons. Currently, 39 games are available for you to choose from. Their charges?
• Refundable Security Deposit: Rs.999
• One Time Registration Fee: Rs.199
• Pay Per View: Rs.199 for 4 days and 3 nights.
Now for the bad news. The service is currently in beta stage and hence only available in Delhi. However, if you are not from Delhi and want the service to be started in your city, then drop them a mail and beg them to launch the service in your city as well. Considering they have a presence in most major cities as far as distributing movies is concerned, it’s only a matter of time before the game rental service is offered in other places as well.
At roughly Rs. 200 per game, it’s quite a deal for gamers like us who have blown up all their lunch money on buying legit copies and are now surviving on scraps. We hope that the service is a hit with everyone, as it can mean only good news for the gaming scene. And for our wallets as well! Especially our wallets!

Goddammit! Why is this service not available in Bangalore, considering it’s one of the largest gaming hubs in the country? Emailing those guys and asking them to roll the service out in Bangalore right the hell now. With so many games coming up for the Xbox 360 in the next couple of months, I could SO use this service right about now.

Seventymm - HORRIBLE SERVICE!
Recently subscribed and all the positivity vanishes the moment your cheque is collected.
Ask for a suggestion and they will give an uneducated one! Order one and wait until the delivery boy arrives, or you can call the next morning to check and the reply is its been dispatched.
I waited half a day and then called again to check. Now the reply is “SORRY, SYSTEM FAILURE, DVD WAS NOT DISPATCHED”
Guess these guys can do with some serious investment in SYSTEMS & CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE if they want to be a leading online rental service.
