Looks like things for December just got real.
This past November saw some nice, well-rounded events (both launch-related and for the public) - whether we were churning EPIC’s Gears (twice!), going Undercover before you made that trip to Metacritic, and least we forget Big Bose and his pals paying a visit to Mumbai, Bangalore, and Delhi for some Battle of the SingStars. This December, however, will go back to whats most chaotic of them all: the LAN parties.
Hygienists, beware! More after the jump.
As coincidence may have it, I’ve never been to a single BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) LAN Party in my entire stay here in India. Maybe it’s because I’m too lazy. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a killer rig to play on. Maybe it’s because I’m too lazy to go get myself a killer rig to play on. Pfft, what-evah, what-evah! I do what I want! But that’s besides the point. The next BYOC meet-up is upon us, and I’m feeling especially generous in bestowing my presence to fellow pot-bellied introverts. Who knows, maybe I’ll finally get to trade some of my quality Pokémon. That, and I’m in the mood for some serious AudioSurf raving. Woo hoo!
Bobby’s been at it again, but this time he’s got an entire page devoted to his crazy-crafting antics. The place could use some sprucing up, but all in good time. Has that ever stopped the Durkaman before? Satan only wishes!
Afterall, who knew that the Master Chief was such an expressive individual, the birds in GTA can’t be seen together less their primary role decreases by ten-folda, and that trading your maa for a gaming collection is a smidge of bloody nonsense (but just a smidge). Krishnan has some of his GMod strips up as well, but they’re mostly farty old. Much like he is. Oh yes.
Sam being the ever-subtle, ever-sneaky rogue assassin he is, was able to break into the premises of EA’s Mobile Division in Hyderabad by, get this, posing as an astute journalist for a newly introduced Indian gaming blog (or was it supposed to be Rediff, I forget). Some real interesting info that you might want to check out, and we’re not talking about just mobile gaming. But in case you’re wondering, no there isn’t anything related to Mirror’s Edge. Fiddlesticks.
Some of you may remember Sameer Desai’s first interview session with Sony Computer Entertainment India Country Manager Atindriya Bose. Much time has passed since then, and Sam decided to get the GamingIndians community together and voice in their questions for the Big Bose (oh snap). New info concerning recent Playstation brand sales (11,000 units across all three primary platforms in each month since the last three) as well as possible servicing for imported Playstation 3 units were some of the many things discussed.
GI: A major chunk of PlayStation 3s in India is imported and therefore warranty does not apply on these consoles. If we do have a service facility in the future, can Sony provide any sort of support or paid repair service for these owners?
AB: We will, most probably, look at providing service for a price, because ultimately it is a Sony customer, although they will not enjoy warranty. If it is tampered with in any way, like is seen often with the PlayStation 2, we will not touch it. Other than that, we will come up with a policy for imported consoles.
You can catch the entire interview here.
You can set your pitchforks down now, because Grand Theft Auto IV will be coming to India on the 29th of this month, just like the rest of the world - courtesy of e-Xpress Interactive. Joyous rapture! Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions will retail for Rs. 2499 and Rs. 2999 respectively. But if you decide to pre-order from GamingIndians, you’ll be earning yourself a 10% discount with free delivery. Sam has all the details posted here. In the meantime, check this fan-made video out and let the good times roll.

Ahh, I love the smell of lethal materialism in the morning. Not only will the Metal Gear Solid 4 Limited Edition be officially available in India at launch (June 12th, better mark those calenders), but for those who are anxious to get their hands on their luscious tin box ASAP will want to head over to GamingIndians. For the first 15 days of its release, the Limited Edition package will be exclusively available for pre-order to the community’s members and so forth. Sam’s got the details posted up here, so if you’re interest is piqued - read hard and long. And try not to upset Mr. Bose. This guy can kill a ferret with his mind. That, and recite the English alphabet backwards. Backwards, damn you.
