Oh yeah… Duffman…!! Well this is the dream come true story of the female comic artist from Canada, N. Matsumoto aka spacecoyote who drew a Japanese manga version of The Simpsons. She submitted the artwork at www.deviantart.com on January 5, 2007 under her DA account spacecoyote. As you can already see the amazing artwork in the images shown above, this work made to the top pages of DA within days and even faster then that the artwork was circulated throughout the internet. Soon it ended up on the digg.com as well as ABC News Australia and various other blogs and websites.
This was just the beginning of a never ending glory. Soon enough the big people sitting at the Simpsons end noticed her artwork and contacted her. Bongo comics, the brain child of Matt Groening offered her to work on a manga style version of the Simpsons. Also she was contacted by 20th Century Fox to work on the upcoming relaunch of Futurama! Woo hoo… this article is actually about many news, but its more about the success story of a simple girl, who is an artist at heart.

This artwork doesn’t represent her awesome talent, so do make it sure to check out her DA gallery which has amazing comic artworks. Matsumoto has already done the manga versions of Futurama and a pencil portrait of Sideshow Bob. Also make sure to check out her website and her own comic strip (all the links have been provided at the end of the article).
Talking about the art and talent, many people are using her artworks as their own over the net. Well you will find numerous avatars and signatures made out of her artworks, but worst are those people who are using her artworks as their own. So, if you see any of her artworks under somebody else’s name, don’t let yourself being fooled and do raise a voice against the art theft. All the artworks drawn by Matsumoto are her intellectual property and she deserves a proper credit given to her. This also means a request to the readers of TAP who will be reading this article and saving these images on their systems. If you ever decide to use her artworks, don’t forget to give her the whole credit.
Congratulations to spacecoyote from me and the whole angrypixel team for making it. Some of us do end up painting our dreams in the sky. Mmm…..sky….

OK, so it’s not like we didn’t know this was coming, but this is the final nail in the coffin! As of this week, Microsoft is starting to ban modded Xbox 360s from using the Xbox Live service. Confirming the bans, Microsoft’s Major Nelson stated on his blog that anyone with a modded console will be banned from using the Live service on that particular console “to ensure a level playing field for all users.”
With the new Spring Update in place, Xbox Live now detects the presence of a modchip in the console, even if it is one of those “turn-on/turn-off” modchips and then proceeds to blacklist the console, effectively killing all chances of getting updates, Marketplace content, Achievements tracking and multiplayer fun for the person with the modded console. Undoubtedly, modding also voids the warranty on the console, so if that ring of death plagues you, you are just completely out of luck! However, the account itself is not banned on Live, so if you find yourself facing the ban hammer on Live, all you have to do is get a new unmodded console and then get back to using your old account!

Age of Empires III, the latest in the AoE series from Microsoft, is all set to expand again with a second expansion pack, The Asian Dynasties, later this autumn. Developed by Microsoft Game Studios and Rise of Nations veterans Big Huge Games, The Asian Dynasties will feature a number of Asian civilizations, along with new content and revamped gameplay elements, random map styles derived from the previous AoE games as well as 15 new Asian “wonders” for players to build or destroy.
The game, like the previous expansion, The WarChiefs, will be available as a Games For Windows title for PCs running Windows XP as well as Windows Vista, and will feature all the benefits of the GFW platform, including easier installations and support for the Games Explorer and Parental Controls features on Vista. We will have more on the game as and when news comes up. For now, just enjoy the first new awesome screenshot, showing off a Chinese port village. We wonder if we will get to see an Indian civilization and the Taj Mahal wonder!

If there’s just one game that has shaped the face of RTSes over the years, it would undoubtedly have to be Blizzard Entertainment’s wunderkind – StarCraft. Today, in Seoul, South Korea, the next in line to the most famous RTS of all time has been officially unveiled, sending the RTS loving world into a major frenzy.
With the trailer showing how an incarcerated, cigar-smoking, steroid-pumping Terran “jailed-for-multiple-murders” inmate becomes a Marine, and extended gameplay footage showing the various units of the Terrans, the Zerg and the Protoss in battle, the demo showed off a lot of the returning and the new units that will be available in the game, as well as new structures like the new Protoss phase prisms and the deadly, time-warping, planet-cracking, black-hole pumping orbital death machine that is the Protoss mothership.

A W.I.P prototype of the latest release from CyberProt – the dual analog nub PSP! This baby looks so sweet with both analog nubs that you’d think, “Why the hell didn’t Sony think of this?!” While the piece is still a WIP, there’s a video on YouTube of this baby in action. Considering how well placed the PSP controls are, the dual analog nub would be a blessing to FPS gamers like myself.
The real question here is – that supposing God does exist and this becomes easily available as a PSP mod, how will it support existing games? The answer is probably NO – it wont. And thats understandable. However, it does mean that the open source community can write games to specifically take advantage of this hardware. Looks sweet – promises to be great. The future will tell if this becomes a reality for all to use. Who know’s Sony might learn a lesson or two!

Every single Indian rocker knows that Parikrama opened for Iron Maiden in Bangalore on 17th March. That was some news, but nobody knows about the kind of impact that show left on everybody from the lands of rock that day. The Maidens themselves paid the Parikrama a visit back stage to congratulate them on their unique blend of Indian classical and retro rock of the 70s. Parikrama wasn’t even expecting to see the Maidens, let alone their coming to them personally. Well to sum it all it was an awesome experience for the band that has been singing for more then 14 years and that too without a single album to their credit.. some nerve..
Noticeably Parikrama performed all original set at the gig and also played two new songs. The success of the show and the impact it had was blatantly projected in the article “Maiden India” by Ed Vulliamy which was released online on the Observer Guardian Unlimited on Sunday, April 22, 2007. This is the official say:
“If the support band, Parikrama, don’t soon make inroads in the West, the A&R system is malfunctioning badly. During an entrancing instrumental called ‘The Open Sky’, the violinist, Imran Khan, played a hypnotic solo entwining heavy rock, Paganini and the chromatics of Ravi Shankar, while a huge, majestic but appropriately ominous jet-black house crow hovered above the stage.
Offstage, Parikrama’s vocalist Nitin Malik says with a knowing look: ‘Yes, that number can often change the weather.’ He explains that ‘heavy rock in India has been the preserve of the young intelligentsia until now. But it is filtering down to the blue-collar workers, becoming the music of a new generation in a new kind of country. But,’ he adds, ‘there is nothing in the world like playing on the same stage as Iron Maiden.’

American pop-rock band Maroon 5 is back after a five year long break with their latest attempt in experimentation, ‘It Won’t Be Soon Before Long ‘. If ‘Songs about Jane’ had a more emo soft rock approach, this album is totally up-tempo. I don’t know if its just me but i feel that everybody’s trying to sound different nowadays . Linkin park came out with a weird album (god knows why?) which was totally devoid of their nu-metal grunge rock sound, which their fans are so fond of (and had expected).
Anyways, Maroon 5 has pulled it off rather brilliantly. The sound and beats are fresh , incorporating some elements of contemporary soul and disco-pop jazz into it. As usual, Adam Levine’s vocals are quite impeccable and mesh flawlessly with the music. On the flipside, their lyrics lack the same depth and intensity that their previous tracks offered (‘Must Get Out’ is a prime example) . Heck, you can’t expect modern poetry in each song can you?

Weird! After EA announced that they’d be publishing “Simpsons, The game” for all major platforms, I was expecting our esteemed colleague Krishnan to come out with his hands held high , fists clenched shut and a resounding “WOOHOO! USA! USA!” coming from his lips. Looks like he’s suffering from the ‘over stresses workus’ disorder.

Gamers and fans of the show would be able to take control of the Simpson family (save Maggie), interacting with nearly every character in the show’s huge roster. Apparently, America’s favorite family realizes that they are trapped inside a video game and they must use their new found whacky superpowers (for eg. Homer can eat fatty donuts to transform himself into a huge ‘Homerball’) to overcome their latest dilemma. My only complaint from previous Simpson games was the lack of original humor, which we’ve come to expect from a show of such great caliber. Scott Amos, Lead game producer for this as of yet untitled project has assured us that humor would be given the highest priority, incorporating more than 8,000 lines of dialog from the show’s scriptwriters. Slated for an Oct-Nov 2007 release date, I can hardly wait for the next great adventure in the life of Homer J Simpson.
The Angrypixel.com is now 1 month old!!
YAY!. This has been one crazy month for all of us. We’ve seen a lot of really interesting, quirky, unexpected, but extremely encouraging things happen over this last month. First off – we’ve got a lot of our good contributors back with us. So expect to see more posts from the regulars at the blog. On the forum, we’re getting new users almost everyday and our very own Bobby a.k.a Durk has created a SEXY design template for the forum as well as a new logo. We had a lot of trouble zeroing in on the logo, but we’ve finally got it. So expect to see some downloadable wallpapers from this site soon.
But the best part – the BLOG! The blog has been by far THE MOST successful part of the website. With some excellent and quality news being posted by the heroes here, we’ve managed to score almost 24,000 hits – in ONE MONTH!!! At one point, the blog had so much traffic, that it kept crashing for almost 2 days. From frantic phone calls to each other across the country, to international calls, to praying real hard – we did it all. The response we’ve received so far has been very encouraging and will only confirm 1 thing – the ANGRYPIXEL is here to stay!

Thankfully, humor still has a tendency to spread to those even remotely disturbed by video gaming mockery. Just look at the guys who made this Amaterasu (from Okami, silly!) get-up for their precious pup! Extra props for not even bothering to cleanup afterwards, god just look at that mess.
