Wii Fit / Wii Balance Board

You know how when you sit and play games and your family tells you to get off your fat butt and get some exercise instead of wasting away in front of the console? Well, if Nintendo has anything to say about that, you can just yell back “I AM exercising!” That’s the premise of the new game, Wii Fit and the new Wii Balance Board.

The new wireless Balance Board can automatically measure your weight as well as track your balance across the board, lending itself to an awesome control scheme where your full body movement is used as a gameplay control element. The new aerobics exercise game allows you to lose weight, build muscles and basically make a complete ass out of myself in front of my television and have tons of fun doing it. Finally, a way to exercise by quantifying it as fun!

Super Mario Galaxy on November 12

More Nintendo goodness from the E3 Press Conference. It has been confirmed by “Happy Reggie” that players will be able to step into the shoes of the Italian Plumber and hop across galaxies come November 12, 2007 in the US of A. Mamma mia, Wii like!

The Wii Zapper / Super Smash Bros. in Dec.

At the ongoing Nintendo press conference at E3, Reggie Fils-Aime, Executive VP of Sales & Marketing talked about the newest “offspring” of the Wiimote and the Nunchuck, the Wii Zapper. Housing the Wiimote and the Nunchuck in a new casing, and to retail for a suggested price of $19.99, the Zapper will allow an unprecedented level of control in first person shooters, just like the Wiimote revolutionzed sports games. Games from Sega and EA, including the upcoming Medal of Honor game and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for the Wii and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles will take advantage of the Zapper, allowing players to shoot through their favorite games in style.

And oh, did I mention that Super Smash Bros. Wii is coming on December 3, 2007? Along with over 140 titles for the DS and over 100 titles for the Wii! Yeah, you heard that right. We’ll have more from the Nintendo conference as it breaks.

More Killzone 2 Details

Killzone 2

More information on Killzone 2 coming through, straight from the developers themselves.

Story:
Two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA is bringing the fight to the enemy’s home world of Helghan. Taking the role of Sev, the battle-hardened veteran of the special forces unit known as the Legion, players will embark upon a mission to the planet Helghan to capture the Helghast leader, Emperor Visari, and bring the enemy’s war machine to a halt. For Sev and his squad, the invasion of Helghan is just the beginning. Tasked with securing Pyrrhus, the Capital City, the team quickly discovers that the Helghast are a formidable enemy on their home planet. Not only have they adjusted to the planet’s hostile conditions, they have also harnessed a source of power from the environment that can be used against the ISA. Sev and his team soon discover the fight is greater than simply addressing the enemy forces; the Legion must also learn how to handle the effects of the fierce enemy planet.

Features:
With an extensive, story-driven single-player mode and thrilling multiplayer mode, Killzone 2 offers a host of new elements that caters to both hardcore and casual gamers alike. The game features highly atmospheric environments that respond accurately to weapon fire as players storm through the world of Helghan. The harsh climate and conditions of Helghan are also a factor, forcing players to adapt new tactics to survive. Proprietary tools and technology such as deferred rendering techniques are implemented to create advanced effects, such as ultra-vivid and detailed character animations and environments. Advanced cinematic effects are used to provide unprecedented visuals, including motion blur, internal lens reflections, and depth-based color grading that will let players experience gameplay that is sharp, detailed, and vibrant. Additionally, Killzone 2 supports 7.1 surround with location-specific audio, providing players the opportunity to experience sound and music that are not only dynamic but in context to indoor and outdoor locations.

F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate / Files

F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate / F.E.A.R. Files

Monolith may be struggling with a community to give their version of the F.E.A.R. sequel a new name, but that doesn’t stop rights holder Sierra Entertainment to go ahead and make more versions of the hit cinematic shooter.

After the blockbuster original and the less-than-lukewarm expansion, Extraction Point, Sierra has announced F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate, an all-new stand alone expansion pack for Windows and F.E.A.R. Files, the first expansion pack (also stand alone) for the Xbox 360. Both games are scheduled to ship later this fall.

Perseus Mandate is set to deliver an all new experience that presents a different perspective of the events that occur at Armacham, through a parallel storyline that lets players control someone other than the Point Man from the original and the first expansion and battle enemies that he never saw coming.

F.E.A.R Files for the Xbox 360, however, is an amalgamation of Extraction Point and the upcoming Perseus Mandate for the Xbox 360, which saw only a port of the original game. More on the game will be revealed during Sierra’s presentations at E3 in the coming days. Oh boy, the poor cow is being milked for all she’s worth!
