Mafia 2 Official Trailer

Yeah, Mafia 2.. For some, the original Mafia had left a bad taste and an even worse after taste with its bad driving and lack of a free roaming option like GTA; but for the rest of us who loved the missions and the whole story behind the game and who have been waiting to see what comes out of the second installment of the mob underworld action thriller, here it is; the official trailer from Illusion Softworks..

Watch it here

More updates as they are warranted.

A Darkness Ascends Upon Us

Darkness Cover Xbox 360

No. It’s not any state or college elections I’m talking about here.

I’m talking about The Darkness by the publishing wizards 2K and the development warlocks at Starbreeze. The Darkness is a game that will make you beg for more. It will eviscerate all you had come to expect from shooters. It will rip to shreds the horrible; “comic-book-hero-meets-video-game-and-dies” legacy that a certain developer has been fucking up EVERY time with my favourite arachnid hero. It will make you believe in a real world. It will make you believe in an alternate world. It will make it worth the investment.

Fancy, no?

Mafia 2 Officially Announced

Mafia 2

Looks like 2K’s on a roll these days. After launching a number of AAA titles including The Darkness and BioShock, they’ve made us an offer we just can’t refuse. And no, we’re not talking the Godfather sequel here, but something a bit.. closer. Announcing the sequel to Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven - the gangster games’ poster child - Take 2 said that the game will “feature a deep mobster-driven narrative packed with both behind-the-wheel and on-foot action” and is being developed by the same guys that gave us the original, Illusion Softworks.

And then the press release goes on to throw several fancy phrases including some delectable ones like “cinematic Hollywood movie experience”, “high octane gunplay”, “white knuckle driving” and the obligatory “engaging narrative”, but needless to say, they pretty much had us foaming at the mouth with the gunplay and the white-knuckled driving part. Mafia 2 should explode on to next-generation consoles as well as PC sometime next year, even as we wait the inevitable suffering with The Godfather 2!
