Back in the days when the World War II genre was dying a slow death, with no COD4 in sight to revive it, the first Brothers In Arms title came like a fresh whiff or air, bringing with it real battlefield tactics and allowing you to step in the boots of a real commander. Nearly three years after the first in the series, Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 tasted critical and commercial success, Gearbox Studios readies Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway (BiA:HH) to storm our consoles and PC in glorious HD. The ANGRY Pixel got it hands on PC preview code of BiA:HH to get a first hand taste of what the game has in store for us.
Yes, we’ve all heard this one and there have been over 650 pages of discussion about this at the GTA IV forums, but finally, we can break our six-month silence and echo Rockstar and the entire Internet in welcoming GTA IV for the PC this November. Yes, we’ve known that the game was coming to the PC in November for quite a long time now, along with some really juicy information on the new Lara Croft in Tomb Raider: Underworld (I love gymnastic coaches!), but we couldn’t open our mouths thanks to a painful embargo and a whole lotta guns pointed at us.
But teasers aside, GTA IV will finally see the light of day on PC come November 18 in North America and November 21 across Europe. When the game will be made available to the hapless Indian gamer is not certain, but the local distributor in-charge of the license assures us that it will be here “on par with the international street date” and that it will be priced very competitively - a fact that is being looked at with open hostility by the console gamers here, who had to wait an eternity for the game to be available here, most of whom got their copies from the gray market at obscene price points.
While there’s still no word on the official system requirements or whether the DLC will be made available to PC owners for free, as is usually the case with such games, Xbox 360 and PS3 GTA IV fans will have quite a bit of love coming their way – now with the Millionaires Club, soon with the “Viral Infection” zombie mode and a fresh DLC to boot. And for those still trying to figure out the new Ms. Croft, watch out for the lovely Ms. ****** ******* (are we counting the stars, Alice?) at the upcoming Leipzig Games Convention. Cheers!
For fans of Dead Space that have been eagerly awaiting the next instalment of the wonderfully crafted animated comic, EA has finally released the next episode in the series which continues the gruesome story of the Marker, the Unitology conspiracies and the shocking mass-suicides and takes it one step further with the beginnings of horror, betrayal and infection. With just two more comics and the Downfall movie to go over the next three months, Issue 04 opens the gates of Hell as Marla finally figures out how “death is the key” just as the Ishimura inititates planetcrack, marking the beginning of the end and unleashing the Necromorph infestation, accompanied by the obligatory creepy-as-hell soundtrack.
The 130 MB animated comic is available for download in MP4 format from the Dead Space servers here. (Right click, select Save Target As)
Expect a full-fledged review of the issues so far and its evolution as soon as we manage to get our hands on the actual print comics themselves. Soon.
With all the hue and cry over Crysis and all of us looking to October for Far Cry 2, it seems like the original has been all but forgotten except for a handful of people who still struggle to create content for it. In a spectacular show of proving how CryENGINE can hold its own against its newest competitors, the good folks at the Delta Sector mod have finally managed to release their little baby into the wild, complete with lush vegetation, falling snow and brilliant lightning.
Packing three singleplayer maps – The Arrival, Frozen Paths and Infiltration – and two team deathmatch maps into the 347 MB download, Delta Sector seems like a great reason for us to dust off that old Far Cry DVD and see if it still works. At least, for those of us that aren’t able to run the super high-def Crysis in all its DX10 glory.
Having enjoyed almost a year’s lead time on the PC and the PS3, the all-time favorite twitch shooter, Unreal Tournament III, has finally made it to the Xbox 360 in India, a fact we wouldn’t even be aware of if not for a chance conversation with the distributor. Less than three weeks after its global launch on the Microsoft platform, Unreal Tournament III is now available (in limited quantities, so get yours ASAP) across stores for INR 2799, which makes this the highest priced official Xbox 360 title to be released in the country yet.
The Xbox 360 version of the game has 5 exclusive maps, 2 exclusive characters, all the DLCs released so far and a splitscreen multiplayer mode, but unfortunately, doesn’t have any support for the keyboard and mouse or user-made content, thanks to Microsoft’s bitchiness when it comes to custom content. The only question is, has it been worth the long wait for Xbox 360 gamers? We’ll answer that one in our review, coming soon, complete with a Necris DarkWalker standing outside your door in case you disagree with us.
Nothing makes us happier than killing hapless creatures in the goriest, most horribly twisted way possible, which is exactly what Gears of War allowed us to do, and the sequel is all set to deliver come November 7, 2008. Apart from the standard 2-player co-op and the usual (and some new) multiplayer offerings, Gears of War 2 will include a brand new co-op-kinda mode called Horde, which, in a Last Man Standing gametype, will pit players against never-ending Locust hordes in an all-out battle for survival.
In the meantime, check out the new box art and all the sick, new creatures in the game including the Shield and Gun Boomers, the Butcher, the Grinder, the Mauler and the Tickers.

We’re still waiting for Forever, but here’s some relief to soothe the pain and eternal anguish we’ve been enduring as we wait for the King of Kick-Ass and Smutty Babes to return. After having been long forgotten, Apogee Software is all set to worm their way back into gaming by reviving a legacy catalog of over 30 titles, as well as working with new developers to create what we assume will be new IPs.
And what better way to kick start the whole thing than with Duke himself? And at E3 2008! According to Apogee’s Terry Nagy and Scott Miller, the company, working with 3D Realms and MachineWorks Northwest LLC, will be producing the Duke Nukem Trilogy for release on the PSP and the DS, comprised of three new missions - Critical Mass, Chain Reaction and Proving Grounds.
The episodes will be released sequentially, with the first one appearing sometime in Summer 2009, and according to the massive feature list on the Apogee website, will include:
- 9 Different World Locations
- 36 Action-Packed Levels
- 3D Accelerated Graphics
- 3D Characters with Detailed Textures
- Real-Time Particle and Lighting Effects
- Multi-Mode Play with up to 5 Different Styles of Game Play Action
- Multi-Player Action
- Total Ass-Kicking Weapons
Frankly, as long as we can carry Mr. Arnold Toilet Mouth around on our handheld and squish alien piggy cops, we’re happy. Of course, if you don’t own a PSP or a DS, you could rather just wait for DNF to show up. And wait. And wait…
