Dead Space Animated Comic #4 Online

Dead Space Animated Comic Issue 4 - Planetcrack

For fans of Dead Space that have been eagerly awaiting the next instalment of the wonderfully crafted animated comic, EA has finally released the next episode in the series which continues the gruesome story of the Marker, the Unitology conspiracies and the shocking mass-suicides and takes it one step further with the beginnings of horror, betrayal and infection. With just two more comics and the Downfall movie to go over the next three months, Issue 04 opens the gates of Hell as Marla finally figures out how “death is the key” just as the Ishimura inititates planetcrack, marking the beginning of the end and unleashing the Necromorph infestation, accompanied by the obligatory creepy-as-hell soundtrack.

The 130 MB animated comic is available for download in MP4 format from the Dead Space servers here. (Right click, select Save Target As)

Expect a full-fledged review of the issues so far and its evolution as soon as we manage to get our hands on the actual print comics themselves. Soon.

Futurama DVD Preview: Bender’s Game

OK, now I am really happy that Futurama is out of cold storage and running strong with two direct-to-DVD movies, even though The Beast With A Billion Backs (or Futurama Meets Day of the Tentacle, as I call it) left me feeling a lot less happy than after Bender’s Big Score. With the second movie still fresh, we now have a sneak peek at the next one on the list - Bender’s Game, as, usual a pun, this time on the award-winning sci-fi book, Ender’s Game.

Although we can’t really tell if there’s any inspiration for the movie from the book, we have indeed seen (and heard) a ton of references to Dungeons and Dragons, The Lord of the Rings and the recent Beowulf movie. Bender’s Game is scheduled to hit DVD retail shelves sometime at the end of this year. Hot diggety daffodil! Now if only someone would make another Futurama game. (sigh)

Fo’ Realz: New Screens of Love Story 2050

First Batch of Screens for Love Story 2050

Following up on its recent Zapak partnership, developer Rocking Pixels has finally updated their official website with the first in-game screens of Love Story 2050. Does it look better than the accidentally-released screens of the engine tests? Sure, but we still don’t see what the big fuss is about it. There certainly isn’t anything that screams massively multiplayer just yet. Nor I doubt I’ll ever publicly blurt out “Sweet Baby Moses, is that puppy running on a 9800GX2?!” while eyeing anyone playing this, but technical accolades were never so much my main point of concern as compared to the general emptiness I felt with the whole art direction and design. GameGuru.in has an amateurishly taken cam video uploaded on Youtube, but there’s not a lot to decipher from there. As usual.

Anywho, we’ll let you guys decide for yourselves. Gallery pics of digital Harman-goodness after the jump!

2008: A Great Year To Burn Some Virtual Rubber!

Burning Rubber and Twisted Metal

2007 was a good year for racing games. Fans weren’t exactly spoilt for choice, but it was more a case of quality over quantity. There was something for everyone; Forza Motorsport 2 for the purists and car enthusiasts, DiRT for some off-road escapades and the best car damage ever, and the highly underrated and overlooked PGR4 with its addictive pick-up-and-play approach.

Like in most other genres in 2007, the Xbox 360 came out on top here was well. Forza 2 and PGR4 were exclusive to Microsoft’s console, while DiRT came to the PlayStation 3 months after it did on the Xbox 360.

But 2008 is a new year, and it’s already off to a smashing start – literally. Here’s a look at what racing fans can look forward to in 2008. Once again, there’s something for everyone – simulation, arcade and even some combat racing. And Sony fanboys can finally stop sulking now, because from the looks like it, the PS3 has got some heavy-hitters lining up on the grid.
